how can we do change this an active "I can can the can" into passive voice?
Hello everyone! , and welcome back to Englishrevisit.
Today I am going to explain how we can change this an active "I can can the can" into passive voice, I think it's so annoying and makes you are confused , because it is composed of the same words, but each word differs from the other in terms of meaning, although the word is the same. for more information, please review the speech parts lesson
Let's rewrite the sentence:
I can can the can.
Ah!, how can we deal with this sentence?
It drive me batty(crazy) , Hahah! Dreadfullllll.
Okay! I am going to explain it this minute(right now..etc)
Let's give each word its meaning:
1-Can is an auxiliary verb(a helping verb) and it means:to be able to do something or to know how to do something.
2-Can (v) means:
to preserve food by putting it into a metal container from which all the air is removed.
3-The Can (n) means:
a metal container in which food or drink is preserved without air.
Now!
1- can is an axillary verb(modal verb).
2- can is a verb.
3- The can is an object.
We have a rule , the rule is:
O+modal+be+ verb(p.p)+comp..
Let's apply the rule:
The can can be canned by me.
Or if we want to omit the subject, The passive voice will be like this:
The can can be canned.
Right!
that is it for today's lesson! I really hope you enjoyed!, I really enjoyed making.
